The Bus-stop Chronicles

  The Old Lady The story of a saviour A couple of days ago, I tripped on a ledge in a rush to get to my bus-stop and scrapped my knee. The scrape wasn’t too bad, but it was bleeding and stinging pretty bad. I wished that I could get a tissue or something like that so I could wet it with some water and wash the wound and stop the bleeding. I kept my hand on it to try clot the blot and stop the flow, but I wasn’t too successful. I came to the conclusion that I would just have to push through my bus ride and when I get to school, I would go to the sick bay and get my knee treated. I got on my bus and then, like an angle sent by God himself, there was an old lady. It is a general rule of thumb that old ladies have a bag, and it normally contains the following, a water bottle, hand sanitiser, a phone with a a really chunky case and most importantly, tissues. All I needed to do was go up to her and ask if she has any tissues and the conversation went as following. Me: “um, uh, excuse...

  Today I was riding on the bus with some friends as usual, but one thing was different, MY FRIENDS HAD SNACKS! While I was enjoying my gummy bear, I was unaware that the packet was tilting and a couple spilt on the floor. Because I am a grubby little human, I attempted to pick them all up using the ‘5 second rule’ but this inevitably failed and I only managed to pick up one. Three perfectly good gummy bears ruined and now my day shares the same status. (Not really)   (I tried to upload a photo here but blogger won’t let me 😢)  

 Normally I exclusively write about what happens on my bus and/or my bus-stop but this event was just to absurd to not write about. A couple weeks ago, I was at a Dymocks ( Australian Barnes & Nobles ) and I saw this kid who was asking his mom for a Bluey book and I wanted to be nice and seem friendly so I walked over to say hi. When I got there and said hello, THE KID HISSED AT ME LIKE A CAT!  The absolute audacity of this kid ( who didn’t seem to be above the age of 4 by the way ) is insane and the worst part is, his mom ( who was right there ) didn’t do anything! I know, he might have just felt a bit overwhelmed by this absolute random coming up to him, but surely he didn’t have to hiss at me.  Anyway get out there and start reading more. It’s fun, I swear.

 There is this man on my bus that kinda looks like he's homeless. I say that because he cycles through the same 3 hoodies, wears the exact same pair of pants and his hair is as greasy as a McDonald's happy meal. He really grates on my nerves because he never pays for his bus fare and just says " I'll just get a ticket at the station." Today was different though, today HIS SMARTRIDER ACTUALLY WORKED . When this happened I was listening to some music and I didn’t hear the normal ‘I’ll just get a ticket at the station’ In fact I didn’t hear anything. You could argue that it was because I was listening to music that I didn’t hear anything but JUST LET ME BE HAPPY FOR THE GOD-DAMN MAN OKAY, PLEASE.

  For a couple days there was a sachet of wasabi, y’know the ones you find when you buy store bought sushi, at my bus stop. It was just lying there abandoned and I’m sure I speak for a lot of people when I say this but sometimes, I feel like that wasabi sachet. Just sitting there, abandoned while the world moves on to fast for me to catch up.
